Rapunzel Story for kids
A beautiful princess is trapped in a tower by a wicked witch. A brave prince, drawn by her enchanting voice, sets out to rescue her. But their journey is filled with twists and turns, and their love is put to the ultimate test.
Once upon a time, there was a wood on a hill in the outskirts of the city. There was a small stone hut next to the wood. The hut was surrounded by a gray wooden fence. A couple lived inside this hut.
Men and women had only one wish. They wish to have a beautiful daughter to take care of and raise. They are not sure that they will be wonderful parents.
Upstairs, behind the hut, there was a window.
The window opened to a beautiful view of a large garden. Inside the garden was full of a beautiful plant called Rapunzel, which had big and very beautiful green leaves that were very tasty. The garden was surrounded by a high wall and belonged to the most evil and powerful witch in history.

No one dared to put even a finger into the witch’s garden.
One day the woman looked at the Rapunzel plants from the top window of the cottage. It seemed that the thick green leaves and purple flowers were obliterating it by themselves. It was as if she had been bewitched by a spell.
Suddenly, the woman became restless and pale.
She said to her husband:
I must have some of those Rapunzel plants, or I’ll die!!
The man, who was well aware of the dangers in the garden, said to his wife:
Don’t be afraid, my love. I will wait until evening and then I will go to the garden, jump over the wall and steal a Rapunzel at full speed and bring it to you!!
The faithful man kept his word and set out when it was dusk. He crossed the garden wall, hurriedly picked a handful of Rapunzel from the garden and returned to the cottage and happily gave them to his wife. While swallowing Rapunzel’s leaves, the wife shouted:
Oh, it tastes so good!! I must eat more of this plant, otherwise I will surely die. Please, my dear husband, go back to the garden and bring me a bunch of this plant tomorrow!!!
The man returned to the garden the next evening because he loved his wife passionately. This time, after climbing the garden wall, he suddenly encountered the evil witch and was speechless in fear. He felt cold sweat on his forehead!!
The wizard who was red with anger said:
How dare you enter my garden and steal my precious Rapunzel?? You will be punished for this card!!
The man shouted:
Wait! This is for my wife. She is pale and weak and says that if she doesn’t eat your Rapunzel, she will surely die. This is the only thing that can heal her. Please have mercy on me, witch!
The wizard was silent. Then he felt compassion and said:
very good man I will give you what you ask for. But there is a condition. You must give me the daughter your wife will give birth to!!
The man, who was scared and had no other choice, accepted the witch’s condition.
Some time later, the man’s wife became pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful daughter. The baby had not yet taken its first breath when the witch appeared with a loud voice and said:
You stole my Rapunzel and ate them! You have to pay for this. This girl is mine now!!!
The witch attacked ferociously, grabbed the baby and disappeared in the blink of an eye.
From that day on, the little girl became known as Rapunzel. As Rapunzel grew older, the wicked witch took her deep into the forest and locked her in a tower. This tower was not an ordinary tower.
The height of this tower was as high as a twenty-story building. There was a single room at the top of the tower with only one small window. There was no door in the tower and no staircase. The only way in or out was the small window.
When the magician wanted to come inside, he would stand under the window and shout:
Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let your hair down.
Rapunzel’s hair was golden like precious gold and very long.
When Rapunzel heard the witch’s voice, she would drop her shining hair twenty stories to the ground for the witch to climb up.
Years passed.
One day, the king’s son was passing through the forest when he suddenly reached the tower. He heard a song that was sung by an angel!!!
This was Rapunzel’s voice singing in her small room from loneliness!! The king’s son wanted to climb the tower and meet the woman who had this charming voice. But he found neither a door nor a staircase to climb the tower. He went home sadly.
In the days that followed, the king’s son could think of nothing but Rapunzel’s charming voice.
He decided to go back to the forest every day and listen to her!!
One day, when the king’s son was listening to Rapunzel’s voice in the forest, he saw the witch approaching the tower and shouting:
Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let your hair down!!
Rapunzel let go of her hair and the witch climbed up.
The king’s son thought to himself:
That is it! This is the entrance! I will come back tomorrow and put myself in the witch’s place. I will meet that lady with a sweet voice and ask her to marry me!!
The next day the king’s son returned, went to the tower and shouted:
Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let your hair down!!
Immediately, Rapunzel threw her hair down from the window and the king’s son climbed out of it.
As you can imagine, Rapunzel was quite shocked to see a man enter her room. She had never met a man before.
When the king’s son told the story of hearing Rapunzel’s charming voice in the forest, Rapunzel’s mind was completely relieved!!
The king’s son asked:
Will you marry me?
Rapunzel said:
I will gladly marry you. But I can’t go down. Every time you come to see me, bring a pile of silk with you. I will use it to weave a ladder. When the ladder is ready, I’ll come down and we can get away with your horse.
The king’s son agreed to visit Rapunzel every night. In this way, he could be safe from the witch who comes to the tower every day.
The witch had no idea about the king’s son until one day Rapunzel carelessly revealed her secret. Rapunzel jumped out of her mouth and said:
Witch, how is it that your king’s son climbs out of my hair in the blink of an eye, but it takes so long for you?
What did you say? “You are only mine!” Oh, how you tricked me Rapunzel… You took so much pain for this card!! cried the wizard.
The witch quickly grabbed Rapunzel’s hair and took out a pair of scissors from her bag. Rapunzel’s hair was picked up in the blink of an eye and fell on the floor!!! Rapunzel let out a loud scream and then started to cry.
The wizard shouted:
I will send you to the desert to spend the rest of your life in loneliness and misery!!
Then, with a snap of the witch’s long fingers, Rapunzel disappeared from the room.
That night, the king’s son went to the tower and shouted:
Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let your hair down!!
He immediately jumped out of the window, but this time it was the witch who was holding Rapunzel’s long golden hair. The king’s son went up. He expected to see the kind Rapunzel, but this time he met the witch’s venomous gaze.
The wizard said mockingly.
My dear Rapunzel, because of you, she is gone, you will never see her again!!
The king’s son, who was very upset after hearing this news, stepped back and suddenly fell down from the window! He barely survived, but a thorn stuck in his eye and blinded him!!
The king’s son, who was now blind, wandered in the darkness of the forest and ate nothing but berries. He thought of nothing but the sweet face of Rapunzel and heard nothing but the silky voice of her voice in his head.
He wandered for years in misery looking for Rapunzel!
One day he fell into the desert. Ironically, this was the desert where Rapunzel had been banished.
He heard the familiar voice of Rapunzel’s sweet voice in the door and went towards her.
The king’s son got closer and closer until finally Rapunzel saw him. Rapunzel ran to the prince and started crying with joy. When two drops of Rapunzel’s tears fell on the prince’s eyes, suddenly the prince regained his sight and looked at Rapunzel. Then he looked at the two young children who were standing next to him.
Rapunzel said:
Meet your daughter and son!!!
The prince asked:
Wow!! They are twins!!
yes!! A pair of cute and beautiful twins!!
The prince said happily.
So let’s go home together!!
They returned to the prince’s land and lived happily together for years!!
